Follow Friday & TGIF

Happy Friday!

Q: Do you have a favorite series that you read over and over again? Tell us a bit about it and why you keep on revisiting it?

There are very few books out there that I've read more than once (I can only think of To Kill a Mockingbird and The Giver that I read twice).

I don't usually re-read books. Only because there are SOOO many other books I want to read AND because I already know what happens in the book - and since I already know what happens ... I'll get bored with the read.

Q: Reading Challenges: Did you sign up for any this year? How has your progression been?

I haven't signed up for any reading challenges [insert sad face here].  I did give myself my own challenge as part of my 101 things to do in 1001 days.  My goal is to read a 100 books in 1001 days.
So far ... I've read SIX - I have until March 2014 to read 94 more {you can check out what I've read so far -- here}.

So do you re-read series? What's your favorite?
Did you join a reading challenge? I'd love to hear about it!

  2. The Giver would be one I wouldn't mind re-reading. I just worry I won't enjoy it as much as I did the first time.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I thought I was the only book lover that didn't reread their books! Glad I'm not the only one, lol. There are too many books out there I want to read.

  5. I totally agree with you on the first question...the two that you have reread are on my TBR list...maybe I should bump them up. And about the challenges? 100 books in 101 days?? Are you mad?? Thats a book a day!!! I'm lucky if I have time to read a book a week!!! LOL

  8. I've read a couple of series twice, but I've read the Harry Potter series six times. I'll do it again when my son is old enough to enjoy them. Have a good weekend! :)

  9. Hopping through. I haven't read TKAM since 9th grade. I should re-read it. I've read The Giver countless times.

  10. I (obviously) completely agree. There are just too many good books to be re-reading sometimes!

  11. i began reading To Kill a Mocking Bird earlier this year but left it unfinished. I got busy in more important things and didn't get time to finish it. But I was loving the book an hope I can finish it by the end of the year.

Feels bad when people are talking about the book and I cannot fully participate.

  13. I don't reread much for the same reasons you mentioned, already know what happens and too many other great books to read. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  15. I'm usually the same. It takes a lot for me to want to reread a book. I have so many books I need to read I don't have the time to reread some haha.

  17. I don't usually re-read, either - I also have too many other books on my shelves that I haven't read yet. It doesn't seem fair to ignore them for something I've gone through already!
