Friday Memes {Follow Friday, Friday Five, & First Line Friday} !!!

Happy Friday!
And
Happy Veterans Day!

I'm kicking off this Friday with my normal Friday Meme (Follow Friday) but I'm also going to try two other  Meme's this week -- scroll down, read and let me know what you think!

Q: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

I don't know any Soldiers but I have nothing but admiration and appreciate for those who are out there fighting for us. I'll take this moment to say THANK YOU! to all the Soldiers and a THANK YOU to their families. I realize how much they sacrifice to fight for us.

First Line Friday

First Line Friday is a new

bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews

1. Grab your current read
2. Share the first line
3.

Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR list

"You've got to be kidding me," the bouncer said, folding his arms across his massive chest. He stared down at the boy in the red zip-up jacket and shook his shaved head. "You can't bring that thing in here."

Q: You are in the process of writing a book, pick 5 genres you would consider writing.

I'm not a very good writer - BUT a girl can dream - RIGHT?!
Here are my five:

1. Dystopia - YA
2. Poetry
3. Historical Fiction
4. Crafty Book (crochet)
5. What genre is Zane a part of? I want to write books like hers. LOL.

Do you have a favorite Soldier (Real or Fiction)? If so tell me about him/her!
Also - what's the genre(s) do you currently write and/or would consider writing?

  1. I like the Friday Five idea - my top pick would be thriller - like Dean Koontz or Stephen King. And my hubby is a Marine vet, so he's my special soldier.

  3. I *really* struggled with this week's FF. I'm with you. I don't know anyone (other than my grandfather's) who's serving, or has done, I'm just realyl grateful for all the folks who have.

Happy Veterans' Day, and happy FF!

  6. Some people have friends and/or family who served or who is serving in the military. Other people aren’t really keen on the long-standing war and really have no answer at all.

As for me? I don’t know anyone who is serving or who has served so I decided to go with what I want and chose a fictional soldier as an answer. The thing is, I had four prime candidates! I did eventually end up with one with a lengthy explanation. Care to know who it is? Follow me back to http://www.howardsherman.net and find out!

In celebration of today’s cool date of 11/11/11 I’m offering a special $11 discount off all my interactive fiction books! Sure I’m a book blogger but I’m also an author. All the details of the $11 off on 11/11/11 is at the bottom of my Follow Friday blog post.

Since I’m posting this kind of late just add 'FF’ to the coupon code and it’ll be valid all weekend long!

    Thank God it’s Follow Friday!

  7. My fave veteran would be my Grandfather.

Hmmm, was the character trying to bring a weapon in the club? Interesting first line.

LOL Zane's genre would be erotic fiction. I'd read your books! My five genres would be:

    1. Memoir
    2. Autobiography
    3. Chick lit
    4. Mystery
    5. AA fiction
