Two books come to my mind immediately:

  9. Y E S. To Kill a Mockingbird is so, so amazing. I had to write a literary paper in 12th grade and TKAM was one of the books I used, so I'm really attached to it haha. The Great Gatsby is also pretty great. I'm kinda looking forward to the movie!

  18. I never did the summer readings (oops) I always forgot and they never sent anything home to remind me. It's bad because I have a child now and what do I do... I forget to check the website and get the summer readings. What does that mean you ask? Yea my child wasn't able to do her summer reading either. EPIC FAIL. I don't know why I never had much luck with reading those required readings. They just weren't for me, but neither was school. Oh wells, I need something to read now. Go figure,I love it now that it's not required.

I love "To Kill A Mockingbird" but am sad to say I never read anything by James McBride. Surprising as I WAS an English major. :O)

  30. I didn't have to read TKAM in school- my high school thought anything after The Great Gatsby was suspect. But when I read it last year, I loved it. I wish I had a dad like that.

I have The Color of Water on my bookshelf. I never really thought much about the the issues of being mixed or biracial. I'm from Hawaii where that's normal.

Thanks for following- following you through GFC.
