Ooh How Pinteresting & What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hi! Thanks for swinging by today!
It's that time to link up with Michelle and Jamie
I'm LOVING that I am a bit of a hoarder and kept my books from childhood.  My mom just pulled them down from the attic and I completely forgot about them!

Remember these:

C'mon. Admit it. You read these books too and you LOVED them!
For more of my finds ... click HERE. It'll bring back memories. I promise!

I'm LOVING that my mom texts me letting me know of the yummy dinner she made - aka my mom texts me letting me know that my share is waiting in the fridge for me!

I'm LOVING that I finally got to try Skinny Girl Sangria.
It wasn't bad. Not bad at all.

I'm  LOVING Pinterest!

What are you  LOVING this week?

Teaser Tuesday ::: Gone Girl

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

"There's something disturbing about recalling a warm memory and feeling utterly cold."

I haven't decided if I'm going to read this one yet. I just downloaded the free sample from  Amazon. I'm not being pulled in as all the comment say the story does.

Have you read this?
Do you recommend it?

Girl Talk, R.L. Stine, Judy Blume - OH My!

So. I'm going to tell you a teeny-tiny secret about myself.
I'm a BIT of a hoarder.
I have a hard time throwing stuff away.

Remember my face over there -->
Because you might see me on tv one day. My episode will be all about how I couldn't throw away books.

Specifically the books I ADORED as a kid.

This weekend I finally went thru the boxes my mom dragged out of the attic for me to get rid of. And I managed to get rid of a couple books - but I had to keep these gems:

Girl Talk books - see that little pink in the corner? That's even MORE Girl Talk Books. I must've had/have them all.

Read this series AND watched the TV show. And What?!

Yup. I know these are the completely opposite of Girl Talk & SVH but these R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike books. Ump. Loved them!

Need I comment on these? Judy Blume was the ish!

Ok. So I'm a neat hoarder. I got a cute little/big purple bin. Stacked my books in and quietly put them in the closet at my mom's house. I'm NOT getting rid of them. I'm keeping them for my kids.

Some of my memories from childhood are of playing with my mom's old toys (specifically her barbies ... which I have all mine still) and her books. So I'd like to have the same for my future children. I'm so thoughtful right?!

See above? I was super serious about my books. I wanted my ish returned to me (and in a prompt manor mind you ) if I ever lost it.

Please tell me I'm not the only one. Did you love some of the books I mentioned above?
What book do you have fond memories of reading?

Social Sunday!

Two Sunday Posts in a Row?!  I think I'm on to something!

This Weeks Questions:

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?

Go on Survivor. Seriously. That's my show! I love it. But two things would happen:
1. I would starve to death and be super grumpy/bitchy
2. I'd cry every episode because I was hungry!

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In a nice SFH married with a kid and happy with my career (or at least happy with my paycheck)!

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?

The holidays.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?

That people like it. Really. That's my biggest concern.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?

Yes. I like where I live (in Maryland). No other city has my name on it. Perhaps I haven't discovered it yet.

6. What is your morning routine?

Hit the snooze alarm just once (or twice, or 3 times...don't judge). Shower. Sit on the couch eat breakfast & watch news. Then dress and then leave for work. This is my new routine. Since moving into my apartment. I kinda like it. My old routine was to lay in bed until 8:15, shower and head to work. I like the quiet time in the AM I have now.

Loved them all! Well worth the hype!

Chocolate & Navy Granny Blanket & Hat

My Friend asked me to make a little baby hat for her friend ... so I did.
aaand I made a little blanket too:

I thought at first the color combo was a little weird...but I ended up really liking it! Especially the blanket:

Came out really nice! And I only used two balls of yarn.
A nice little gift for less than $8.

Now. My only issue was I've never made a new born hat. So I made one. and it looked kinda small so I made a second one. I HOPE it fits. I've seen so few new born babies I have no idea where to even start with hat making.

Fingers crossed it fits!

How do you like this color combo?

Sunday Social

Hello Sunday. My first Sunday post...ever. I'm linking up with Neely & Ashley for:

This Weeks Questions:

1. 5 items you can't live without on a daily basis (water, food, shelter and clothes don't count)

Cell phone
Dr. Pepper

2. All time favorite book? Why?

The Color of Water by James McBride.
I just LOVED this book/story. This family went thru so much and it's beautifully written. LOVED it!
This was a book from like...10th grade I think.

3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012

Would like to pay of at least one of my credit cards. That's pretty much my goal every year.

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?

Uh. None of them. Sad? maybe. But none really stand out.

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?

That I'm incredibly awesome. Oh wait. People already know that :)

Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}

Q: What book(s) are you reading right now? What do you think of it?

I'm currently reading James Baldwin's If Beale Street Could Talk
I think it's a good story. And it's so interesting & sad that this story was written in 1974 and the issues and problems with society then are still relevant and are still problems today. Tsk.
That's all I can say now. It's worth the read!

What are you reading right now? Do you recommend it?
