Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}

Q: What book(s) are you reading right now? What do you think of it?

I'm currently reading James Baldwin's If Beale Street Could Talk
I think it's a good story. And it's so interesting & sad that this story was written in 1974 and the issues and problems with society then are still relevant and are still problems today. Tsk.
That's all I can say now. It's worth the read!

What are you reading right now? Do you recommend it?

  8. I hadn't heard of Beale Street before now, but it sounds interesting. One of the neat/occasionally disturbing things about historical fiction is how similar the problems of an older time are to those we struggle with today-- I mean like even books written way before the 1970s and even recent centuries. ANYWAY, hope you're enjoying it and I'll be interested to read your review.

  15. Isn't that always the way?

    So many books written so long ago are still pertinent. It's sad.
