Musing Mondays

This week’s musing asks… What distracts you when you really “should be reading”? ;)

oh, The old boob-tube gets me every time.
Especially this time of year when all the good shows are starting up again for the season. Like last night Once Upon a Time, Revenge AND 666 Park Avenue kept me glued to the television. I think all day yesterday I only read about...one page. If that.

I have no willpower to keep focused on a book when the tv is on.

What about you? What distracts you when you really should be reading?

  2. I have cut way down on TV at home..and find I do not miss it. Good book vs. ok TV show? No question the book wins.

  4. REVENGE! I had to really fight the urge to turn it on because I wanted to finish the book I was reading last night. I love DVR! What in the world did I do without it ?

    Thanks for stopping by :)

  6. I totally agree with you, Once Upon a Time and Revege had me glued to the TV that I didn't read a thing last night! I'm loving where both shows are going! Thanks for stopping by today.

  10. TV is definitely my distraction, too. I go through phases when I read a lot (Jodi Picoult is my latest favorite), but then I get really into TV shows. My DISH coworkers have been talking about last week’s premieres, and I’ve been tuning in. I just got the Hopper DVR, which has Primetime Anytime, and automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks. I don’t have to worry about time conflicts, and I can watch them whenever I want, which is apparently all the time. Revenge and Last Resort were the best I’ve seen all week; I’m going to let them distract me for the rest of the season. :)

  12. It's easy for me to get book reading in at home, but I can't seem to get my blog reading done at home. It's a work thing I think. I have some free time from time to time. I know what you mean about distractions though!
