Virtual Coffee

How about some {virtual} coffee?

I WISH my coffee looked as good as the one above. Today I just have my McDonald's coffee - spruced up with some vanilla syrup.

Sooo...How are you today?

If we were really meeting for coffee today I'd tell you how I've been a complete fat gurl lately. I can't stop feeding my face. Cheetos, Cookies, Cheez-its, Tootsie pops ... if it's edible ... I'm eating it.

If we were really meeting for coffee I'd tell you that I've been a complete mess lately. That is a capital M-E-S-S-S-S {yes I realize I've thrown in some extra Ss but it's necessary}

If we were really meeting for coffee I'd want to know if you're watching Teen Mom 2. Those girls. Wow. Particularly Janelle. wow. That's all I can say.

If we were really meeting for coffee I'd talk about how excited I am for two movies: Snow White and The Huntsman AND The Hunger Games. I'm like giddy thinking about them.

If we were really meeting for coffee I'd probably whip out my phone to check my restaurant story and bakery story game - because I'm OBSESSED.

If we were really meeting for coffee what would you share with me?

What I'm Loving Wednesday and OOH, How Pinteresting!

Hi! Hi!
There's a lot I want to get in today including something NEW!
I'm exxxxcited - so excited that I'm doing two post today. You don't have to read both -- but it'll be nice. :)

Link-Up w/Jamie
I'm LOVING the crochet challenges I came across last week. The 1st is: Beyond The Square Challenge hosted by Barbara at Made in K-Town.  Which is GREAT because I have this book with all these crochet motifs that I had no idea to do with. Nooow I do. The 2nd is: Wool-Eater crochet-along hosted by Sarah London.  This is what my second post is about today -- so check that out if you feel like it!

I'm LOVING the camera on my iphone4s. It's better than my regular camera! I keep taking pics with my camera and then my phone and it comes out sooo much better on my phone!

I'm LOVING that I'm taking my mom to get a tattoo on Saturday (which is her birthday). This is the 2nd tattoo I'm getting her (I got her original one 10 years ago!). She's getting a Japanese style dragon on her shoulder/back. I'll try to post a pic of it next week.

As always -- I'm LOVING Pinterest!
Link-up w/Michelle

uh. duh. my need to go to pinners anonymous soon.
this cracked me up. sorry.
Yes. I am a Gemini. Yes I believe this to be true.
I can't express how much I LOVE this.
It's going to be a very bright path.

Lastly -- I'm LOVING this:
Hosted by Sarah London
This is my first crochet along and I'm so excited.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
~Trish

Wool-Eater Wednesday {1}

I'm THHHRRRIIILLLED to say:
I'm joining in on Sarah London's Wool-Easter Crochet-Along.

I've been admiring Sarah's work for about a year now - so I'm excited to take part of this Crochet-Along!

I've gathered my yarn - starting with this:

Then I'll go to my other other yarn stash if needed:

I'm starting about 2-3 weeks behind everyone else but I'm happy with my progress so far:

I just started a new round the other day. So far I think it's looking pret-ty good.

I have no idea how big I'm going to go with it -- or what I'm going to do with it when I'm done -- I'm just happy to be making it :)

I LOVE looking at everyone's wool-eater blankets -- so if your participating in this leave me your link so I can see yours!

If you're not doing this crochet along---start it now! Go get up your stash of yarn and get hooking!

Teaser Tuesday ::: Frostbite {V.A. 2}

Time for Teaser Tuesday -- hoooray!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

Today's Tease is from VA book #2:

"Sorry, {name removed by moi}. You're going to die anyway. Why not do it for a good cause?" He brought his face down to my neck. "This is probably going to hurt," He added.

I'm REALLY liking this series. When I'm not reading -- I find myself thinking about the characters which makes me want to stop whatever I'm doing to go read.
Does that ever happen to you?

Another Another Another Baby Shower Gift - Crochet

Today is THE day I get to gift my baby shower gift to my co-worker/friend.
And I'm excited and nervous.

I get nervous when I gift something I make because I think:
1. Is this good enough?
2. Will they like it?
3. Am I embarrassing myself thinking this is good...and it really isn't?

Here -- I'll share it with you:

So ... what do you think?
I don't know how well it'll go over.
I'm wondering about the bobbles,
and wondering if it's big enough and
yeah.

What do you think?

~Trish

This is my 3rd crochet Baby Blanket Gift - Here's the 1st and Here's the 2nd.

The 5 Love Languages

Hello Hello!

So I HAVE to share this -- my goooood buddy Jenn @ Going the Distance told me about this assessment you can take called The 5 Love Languages {it's quick ... takes like 15-20 minutes ... it gives you pairs of statements that you have to pick the one you most agree with} that analyzes your emotional communication style.

I thought my #1 language style would be Acts of Service and I'm REALLY surprised to find out that ... that it isn't quite my number one (it's close but almost doesn't count right?).

Here are my results:
Your Score
10Words of Affirmation
3Quality Time
4Receiving Gifts
8Acts of Service
5Physical Touch

After I picked myself up off the ground I realized this IS true for me:

Words of Affirmation
Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important–hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.
ESPECIALLY true is that last line. I may have forgotten what I had for dinner yesterday but I can remember an insult from years and years back -- particularly if it's from someone I love.

Anyhoo...I found this assessment throughly interesting and amusing (in a good way!).

I may even check out the book --

What is YOUR love language?

O - please share with me!!

Now I'm going to want to know everyone's results -- particularly my Beau's...

Ooh-How Pinteresting! and What I'm Loving Wednesday!

NEWSFLASH ::: It's Wednesday!
How exciting is that?!

Well...if you don't find Wednesday being titillating enough this should excite you -- it's time for WILW and Oh, How Pinteresting link-ups!

Link-up HERE w/Jamie
I'm LOVING the black diamond hoop earrings I got for Christmas from my Beau. I wanted to wait til I got a good picture of me wearing them before I shared them with you...buuut I don't have a photo today. Just take my word that they are lovely.

I'm LOVING that last week while I mentoring: I was teasing my kid (he's a 3rd grader) and I go "Are you going to crrrryyyy?!" and he looks at me and goes "Why would I cry in front of my best friend?" <-- isn't that so sweet? He called me his best friend.

I'm LOVING that "HADJ" is a word on Words With Friends. I was so happy to use it against my mom ... happiness only lasted for a hot minute because when she took her turn she used the exact same word against me!

I'm LOVING the Twisted Peppermint candle from Bath and Body Works. I'm wishing I had stocked up on the flavor during the sales {I know I've mentioned this before but that's because I really really love it}

aaaand...
I'm LOVING Pinterest and the App for pinterest.
Now I can pin allllll day long even when I'm not near a computer.

Chocolate Covered Sugar Cubes

Teaser Tuesdays ::: Vampire Academy

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

Ok. I'll admit it -- I'm late boarding the Vampire Academy Train. Buuut I finally got my ticket and I gotta let you know that -- I'm enjoying the ride!

So my tease today comes from:

"Images -hers, not mine- tumbled through my mind: fire and blood, the smell of smoke, the twisted metal of a car. The pictures wrapped around me, suffocating me, until some rational part of my brain reminded me that this wasn't my dream"

Have you read this series?
I've heard nothing but good things about VA ... what are your thoughts on it?

BTW -- how many books are in the series?

~Trish

BTT ::: INTERVIEW

Booking Through Thursday: A weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading.

1. What’s your favorite time of day to read?
Any Time! Works out that I typically can get in some reading after work or before bed. But sometimes I like to sneak in a little read on my lunch break.
2. Do you read during breakfast? (Assuming you eat breakfast.)
No. I'm usually driving while eating breakfast or I'm at my desk at work eating breakfast.
3. What’s your favorite breakfast food? (Noting that breakfast foods can be eaten any time of day.)
BACON! duh.
4. How many hours a day would you say you read?
I'm not consistent with my hours per day reading. Last night I read for 4 hours. Tonight I may not read at all.
5. Do you read more or less now than you did, say, 10 years ago?
10 years ago...2002...hmm. I'd guess that I read less because I was in college (I hardly even read the mandatory text book reading)
6. Do you consider yourself a speed reader?
No. I have to read eeevery word. And sometimes I have to re-read whole pages if I miss/or don't "get" something.
7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Um. I don't know because with great power comes great responsibility.
8. Do you carry a book with you everywhere you go?
Yes! In my purse!
9. What KIND of book?
Depends on what I'm in the mood for. Right now it's Vampire Academy.
10. How old were you when you got your first library card?
oooh. I don't know. it was high school. I use to walk down to the library and spend hours in the poetry section.
11. What’s the oldest book you have in your collection? (Oldest physical copy? Longest in the collection? Oldest copyright?)
I have some Nancy Drew books from my Stepmom -- which were her copies when she was a kid.
12. Do you read in bed?
Yes. Ask me how many times I've fallen asleep with a book in my hand {or had a book fall on my face from holding it up and drifting off}
13. Do you write in your books?
I use to - mainly definitions to words. If I came across a word I didn't know I would look it up in the dictionary and write the meaning right in the book.
14. If you had one piece of advice to a new reader, what would it be?
Be open to new genres and authors. You'll NEVER know what you'll like and/or what will speak to you.

How's that?! Did you read all 14 answers?
What's one interview question you would ask me?

I'm LOVING my new iPhone! I treated myself to one for Christmas. Now... I need to download some good apps -- any suggestions?

I'm LOVING that 3 people got me popcorn as Christmas gifts. And not any ol'popcorn. I'm talking Harry and David Moose Munch popcorn.  Have you had it? It's sooooooo good!
(what does it say about me for people to buy me popcorn as a gift and that I'm happy about it?!)

As always I'm LOVING pinterest!

Teaser Tuesday ::: The Night Circus

It's been a loooong while since I've gotten around to do a Teaser.
So I'm THRILLED to be doing one today -- HOOOORRRAAAYYY!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

My tease today is from:
{via}

“I was told it was an accident,” Isobel says quietly. “She was hit by a train.”
Tsukiko nods thoughtfully, pulling a silver cigarette holder and matching lighter from the pocket of her coat.
“How did she really die?” she asks.

Do YOU know how she really died?!

~Trish

Happy Hooker

Now -- it's officially official ::: I am done stressing out about making holiday gifts. After giving out my handmade gifts (which I'm happy to report all went over very well) I took a couple weeks off to chillax.  No crocheting, No Reading, No Blogging. No Nothing.

I'm slowing getting back into the swing of things after my mini break and now I'm super excited to get back to some more "normal" projects.

I'm currently working on two blankets.

 One is a baby shower gift for my co-worker/friend. I'm pret-ty close to being done with it -- but I'm going to hold off on posting pics of it.

But I will - I promise.

Here's the second blanket I'm currently working on:

I'm obsessed with making these star shaped afghans!
I have a lot more work to put into this one as long as I finish it before 2013 I'll be happy :).

SideNote: Is it sad that after every round I crochet I have to stop ... hold the blanket out ... and take 1-2 minutes to admire my own work?!

eh?

Thoughts?

Anyone?

~Trish
