MOOORE Crochet Grocery Bags

Remember this rant a couple weeks ago about grocery bags?

Well...

I'm still on a mission to make my own bags!

That last post - I made a bag I LOVE but it takes a couple days to make. I've  since found a pattern on Knitomatic that works up REALLY fast and is REALLY easy.

And here's the outcome:

Looks good right?
And it's sturdy!

It'll hold THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS you need from the store:

Not one...but TWO bottles of wine!

Now that I have my adult beverage:
What's on your mind today?
I have to tell you - it's been one exhausting week so far! I was at work early and left late monday and tuesday working on ads. I felt a TON of relief on tuesday when I finally finished. now...I just have to wait and see if I screwed up anything (my clients will DEFINITELY let me know if I messed up their stuff)  UPDATE: so far 2 complaints.

Speaking of work -- I got some news yesterday that's kindasortamaybeprobably is going to change my world.

so I'm starting to see that i'm the person that shows up to HH and eats everyone's food and not contribute money to their bills. i wonder if anyone else notices this. LOL. I should stop doing that and/or give money for the food I eat before people start to notice.

Question: do people REALLY love their husbands as much as they blog that they do? like every blog I read the girls go "and of course I love this guy" ... and it's cute ... the first time - buuut every week? I'm starting to think it's an act. but maybe I'm wrong. maybe i'm just a hater.

I have my first YPN (young professionals network) HH next week at The Melting Pot. Should be interesting. Hopefully people show up! I'll be maning the name tag table. I'm just way too cool.

so anyhoo...

I'm LOVING that you can borrow books from the library on your kindle. I do HATE the fact that I never finish the books in time! grr. I need to read more & faster!

Teaser Tuesday ::: Act Like a Lady ...

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

Today's Tease:
{via}
"There is no truer statement: men are simple. Get this into your head first, and everything you learn about us in this book will begin to fall into place. Once you get that down, you'll have to understand a few essential truths: men are driven by who they are, what they do, and how much they make."

Interesting ... right?

Have you read this?
Or seen the movie that came out last weekend?
I have the book (which I haven't read) and I saw the movie (which I highly recommend). Maybe because I liked the movie so much I'll give this book a try.

What do you think?

Follow Friday ::: Fight! Fight! Fight!

Q: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

Oh. So many scenarios have popped into my head (all involving Rose from VA...probably because I read 5 of the books in the series in a row and she's the character stuck in my mind these days)

But anyhoo:

First:
Rose {V.A.} vs. Bella {Twilight}
But this is not contest. Bella is so pathetic. She would just shrink away in a fight against Rose. So that wouldn't even be worth anyone's time.

Then I thought:
Rose vs. Saba {Blood Red Road}
Saba becomes this kick ass girl thru her journey to get to her brother. I don't think this would be a good fight ... so to speak. Saba is motivated by her brother and not unless Rose was involved with anything regarding Lugh - I don't think Saba would entertain a fight.

THEN the GRANDEST thought of them all came to me:
Rose vs. Tris
YES. I think this is a fight I would order on PPV!
I'm actually kinda excited and amused by the thought of this --
and I'm CLEARLY a lover and not a fighter ;)

What do you think?
Who are two characters you'd have battle it out?

Thirsty Thursday

Hello!
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday!

This is the FIRST EVER Happy Hour Link-up hosted by myself and the LOVELY Jenn!

This is a place where you can share your favorite drinks, your favorite stories, meet some new people AND reconnect with familiar faces.

Today's drink for me: Kissing the {Girl} Punch
{photo and recipe via}

Ingredients
1.5L (52fl oz) champagne
180ml (6fl oz) cognac
1 tablespoon icing sugar
1 punnet strawberries
-Place strawberries into a chilled punch bowl and sprinkle sugar over strawberries. Add cognac and refrigerate for eight hours. Add champagne, stir gently and serve.

What's on your mind today?
Ready to chat?
First. I'll admit. This drink is called - Kissing The Bride Punch. But why wait until wedding day to enjoy a drink like this? I think it's a perfect drink to enjoy with your gal pals on any ol' regular day. Want to try some?

***
I'll have to B*%CH about the fact I have to pay out of pocket every time I go see the Physical Therapist. ESPECIALLY since I'm suppose to go 2x a week for 6 weeks. This is EASILY going to cost me $500+ dollars. it's so depressing. I had a whoopsie with my bank last week and now this. PLUS I need new brakes on my car not to mention all my other bills. When it rains...it pours huh?

***
The HOT weather has me day dreaming about the laying poolside this summer. I plan on taking some "ME" time/days off sporadically this year. I don't feel I got enough pool time last year so I'm making it a priority this year. Sunshine definitely helps me with my funky/mood 'tude I've been sporting this year. Am I the only one looking forward to reading/laying out/relaxing poolside?

***
so...I went to the crafts festival on sunday and I wanted to see two things: Crochet Stuff and Soy Candles. OF COURSE - neither were there. Does that mean I should start making soy candles and crochet products to sell -- or I wonder if people don't buy that stuff and that's why nobody at the crafts festival was selling it. You'd buy my stuff -- wouldn't you?

***

I'm feeling like people are saying things to me (and others) that I don't feel like need to be said. Does that make sense? Don't remind me to do something or tell me how to behave - I'm GROWN. and it annoys me when I see people do this to others. Is this just me?

***
lastly - who's excited about Britney being on X-Factor?! THIS GIRL! Yessir. I've never watched it before but I will now just so I can see how Britney is.

***
LOOK-My blanket is Sarah London's blog. I'm totally tickled by this. I SWEAT THIS BLOG. I want to make everything she makes. Like - I obsess over it. And to see her have MY blanket from her crochet-along - makes me happy! aw. the littleish things.

Anyhoo -
What's on your mind today?
Link-up below and tell us all about it!

Teaser Tuesday ::: The Paris Wife

Ready for Teaser Tuesday?
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

{via}
"We throw ourselves into it, dancing our way through a stack of records. He's not a natural, but his arms and legs are free in their joints, and I can tell he likes being in his body. He's not the least shy about moving in on me either. In no time at all our hands are damp and clenched, our cheeks close enough that I can feel the very real heat of him. And that's when he finally tells me his name is Ernest."

Sounds so sweet huh?

What do you think?  Love at first...dance?

Crochet Grocery Bag

Hello!

I don't know if any of you live near me in Maryland, but if you do you know that this county passed a stupid law to charge us $0.05 for every plastic bag you use whenever you go out shopping.

So that means if you go to the grocery story if you don't bring a bag or buy a bag you have to walk out with all your goods in your hands. Same goes for ANY shopping you do in the county. Clothes, Shoes,  Knick Knacks - heck even SUBWAY charges you for a bag.

and YES I get it's for the environment and blah blah blah.
It's just annoying (what's even more annoying is that the county is projected to make 2 million dollars off these 5 cent bags in one year!!).

Anyhoo. ***stepping off my soap box now & taking a  deep breath***

I've made my own grocery bag :)

Not bad right?
I'm thinking I'll make myself a couple, my mom a couple and maybe sell some to others.

What do you think?
Maybe I can make my own small share and get some of that $2million my way.
Do you think people would buy bags like these?

~Trish

Can't take credit for the pattern -- got it from here.

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

First book that immediately pops into my mind:
{via}
Oh, how I loved this book.
The story, the writing, the characters - everything!
I fear what the movie will turn out to be!
Fingers crossed it'll be awesome but I don't know.

What about you?
What's one book you'd be nervous to see adapted into a movie?

Thirsty Thursday -- TEASE

Ready to be teased?
C'mon. I know you are!
As you may know - starting next week Jenn and I will be hosting a new Thursday {virtual} Happy Hour  Link-up called Thirsty Thursdays!

This will be a place where you can share your favorite drinks, your favorite stories, meet some new people AND reconnect with familiar faces.

We all know - I love Happy Hour as much as the next - but I don't have the time (or the $$$) to go and sometimes it's hard to get face-to-face time with your girlfriends when you want (and/or need) it.

So the next best thing - a virtual Happy Hour link up.
You can just lick the screen if you need a little buzz.

Today's HH Drink:

{recipe and photo via}

WINE SLUSHIE!

You're never too old for a slushie right?! huh? Please say yes!

1 bottle Merlot or Syrah

Add wine, juice and berries to a blender. Blend until smooth and freeze.

So come back next week!

:)

What are YOU drinking?
AND
Will YOU be linking up (go ahead - draft your post now for next week's link up. Do it!)?

Musing Mondays ::: 5 Books Every Woman Should Read

This week's musing {hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading}:
What do you think are the top 5 books every woman should read?

Ooh. this this is a good one!
It's going to be hard to pick just 5 - and I know as soon as I make my list I'll think of a bunch more! But here are the first 5 that popped in my head:

#1
Vaginas: An Owner's Manual by Dr. Carol Livoti and Elizabeth Topp.

I read this book in college and 5+ years later I still think about it! It's a book written by a mother (OB/GYN) and daughter (writer) and it's filled with so much good information - and it's written in a really fun and entertaining way!

#2
Once you get your vagina in order - you need to get your wallet in order. SURE I would've loved to include a woman financial planner - buuut I can't. I'm not a fan of Suze Orman - I tried. I really did. But Dave Ramsey is SO much better (in my humble opinion). THIS book: The Total Money Makeover is a must! This one is filled with success stories (that motivate and inspire you) AND budgets. Pick the budget plan that works for you and get going! This book has really helped me!

#3
Any book by Jodi Picoult. I've enjoyed every book of hers that I've picked up. My favorites are The Pact, and My Sister's Keeper

#4
As a woman - you HAVE to read a book (any book) by Zane.
They are HOT, STEAMY and oh so entertaining!
Zane writes erotic fiction.
That's all I'll say about that!
go read one.

#5

and lastly, I would recommend any book - to any woman that will help them relax, that will entertain, that will amuse and maybe even help better themselves. Just read sumthing!

What would you recommend?

Hello! Happy Friday!

Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

No! I'm too easily swayed by other people's opinions (don't use that tidbit of info to your own advantage).

If someone tells me a book is bad then I go into the book expecting it to be bad and I can't enjoy the book because I already knows it sucks. Basically I anticipate the suckiness.

Does that make sense?

Now - if you tell me a book is GOOD I'm all over it!
A lot of times I'll look at the rating someone gives a book before I read their review - esp if it's a book I'm interested in.

What about you? Have you ever bought a book because of a bad review?

Oooh, How Pinteresting and What I'm Loving Wednesday!!!

Hello People!
Thanks for stopping by!

Time to link up with Michelle and Jamie

I'm LOVING that Easter is this weekend! It's my tradition to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins in Pittsburgh every Easter Saturday. So I'm looking forward to seeing them!

I'm LOVING that this is the weekend I get my FAVORITE food made by my Grandma -- MAC AND CHEESE.  Annnnd my aunt in Pittsburgh usually makes it for me too (I'll eat anyone's mac & cheese but it's super special when it's made by my family. it tastes better -- you know?).

I'm LOVING how crazy people are and that they let people film them for tv shows on TLC. Especially "My Crazy Obsession" and "My Strange Addiction". Do you watch these shows? Did you see the lady who was drinking her own Urine? Crazy. Seriously. And I can't NOT watch it!

I'm LOVING how my current crochet project is coming along!

 I'm LOVING Pinterest!
