Ooh, How Pinteresting & What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hello Folks!
Happy Wednesday!

Let's link up with Michelle and Jamie

I'm LOVING my audible subscription. I finished my first book The House Girl
last week. Now I have to wait to next month (or up my subscription) to get another. Any one recommend anything?

I'm LOVING that my little sister M FINALLY called me back and when I asked her what took her so long (nearly two weeks) she goes: "WELL, your dad {which is our dad} makes me go to this thing called SCHOOL and I have this other thing called BEDTIME..." ha. I couldn't argue with her there. I'll have to talk to our father about her priorities. she should be able to stay up late to talk to her big ol sis right?

I'm LOVING this pic:
it makes me LOL for real every time I look at it.

Teaser Tuesday: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

So, I'm happy to say my little sister M is still trucking along with her Harry Potter books and she still LOVES it AAAND she still hasn't watched the last movie because she wants to read what happens first.

As I've been sending her the books I like to do a tease to remind us all how awesome this series is {Book 1 Tease & Book 2 Tease} - although it's not like we could forget.

Last week I sent her book 4 (which was my FAVORITE):
"Harry lay flat on his back, breathing hard as though he had been running. He had awoken from a vivid dream with his
hands pressed over his face. The old scar on his forehead, which was shaped like a bolt of lightning, was burning beneath his
fingers as though someone had just pressed a white-hot wire to his skin."

My little M will love this! She told me she's been reading some fan fiction in
between the books. I haven't even read any fan fiction. She's dedicated!

Which HP was your favorite?

Follow Friday ::: Guilty Pleasure

{link up}

Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

YA is TOTALLY my guilty pleasure. I just LOVE that genre. I'm so thankful for my Kindles so I can secretly enjoy all my teeny-bopper books in public places and not feel ashamed.

What is YOUR guilty pleasure as far as reading?

Teaser Tuesday: The House Girl

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

"Mister hit Josephine with the palm of his hand across her left cheek and it was then she knew she would run. She heard the whistle of the blow, felt the sting of skin against skin, her head spun and she was looking back over her right shoulder, down the fields where the few men Mister had left were working the tabacco."

Follow Friday ::: FAVORITE Outdoor Reading Spot

{link up}
Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.
EASY: I love reading at the pool or on the beach. I don't get to the beach often but I'm lucky to live in an area/community that gives us our choice of pools to visit.
Summer needs to HURRY UP!
So I can get my poolsidereadingon!

What's your favorite spot?

Beautiful Creatures: Review

Two REAL reasons why I read this book:
1. I'm borrowing one of my mom's Kindles and she had it on her bookshelf
2. The movie previews looked really good.
I have to say this
It didn't blow my socks off.
I don't love/adore or really "like" the main characters but I found this to be an easy read, pretty interesting story line and truth be told: it's quick read.
What's interesting is this book is written from the male's voice. I find that most of my reads are from the feminine voice so this was a change for me. Took me a minute to get a hang of it.
You don't really walk away liking the two main characters but the side characters are awesome and interesting - oh and there are some flashbacks/historical stuff that pulls you in.
I would give this book 3 stars ... for "Liked It"
I would give the movie NEGATIVE 3 STARS for "that ish sucked".
After seeing the movie I got a new appreciation for the book. And may even read the second book in the series ... maybe.
I'm not going to ruin it for you but if you have a choice between the movie and the book...go with the book. Always go with the book.
Have you read this?
Did you like it?

Who Doesn't Love ROSES?! #crochetawesomeness

I'm going to state the obvious - Pinterest is a FANTASTIC place to "borrow" ideas and make them your own.

It's also FANTASTIC when your friends send you ideas of stuff they'd like you to make...for them.
And they may not know this  - but I make a mental note, sometimes print a picture of what they sent me AND {not widely known} I TRY to make the things they send ... and I'll admit I'm not always successful (in the "failed projects bin: slippers, stuffed animals, blankets, on and so forth).

This time around I'm HAPPY to say I created something from Pinterest via a pic my friend tagged me in. And I LOVE it.

Here's my version:
Click HERE to see the Pinterest version.

Now I'll admit: I was too cheap to buy the pattern ... so I kinda winged my version...can you tell?

I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome!
I mean...what girl doesn't love roses?!

What I'm Loving Wednesday & Oh, How PINteresting!

Happy Wednesday!

Let's link up with Michelle and Jamie

I'm LOVING that next week (Monday) will mark my ONE MONTH anniversary with my new job. So Far. So Good.
I'm LOVING that I'm working for a company that ACTUALLY cares about it's employees and is allowing people to work from home today {SNOW DAY}! For the past 6.5 years at my previous job we had to go into the office no matter what. Which SUCKED and was dangerous!
I'm LOVING when I go over my mom's house and leave with a bag of food. This week: Chicken Salad, Block of Cheese and a half of homemade coconut cake. YUM!  I also left with a few freezer size ziplock bags...shhhhh don't tell her.

I'm LOVING the Photo Shake app. It's very neat. I like how they make cutesy little collages like these:

Teaser Tuesday ::: The Great Gatsby

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

My Tease today is from The Great Gatsby.
The movie that's coming out looks really good and has grabbed my attention and made me want to re-read this book.

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

Hopefully the movie doesn't let me down, like some OTHER book-to-movie adaptations {*COUGH* Beautiful Creatures *COUGH*}.

What do you think...we all loved the book {right?} will the movie be good?!

I Went Coaster CRAYZEEE!

Okay so I say I'm making lots of coasters for "inventory"
buuuut what really happened is I REALLY liked making these things!

They are quick, easy ... and I'll just go ahead and say it ... CUTE!

I want to keep them all!!!
But if you remember THIS post ... I already have a set.
and I only have one table that needs it wouldn't really benefit me to have this many sets of coasters...or does it!?
