Happy to Report: City of Bones Movie DID NOT Ruin the book for me ... Thank Goodness!

So...we all know that the book is ALWAYS better than the movie.

Sometimes the movie can be just as good as the book (i.e. Harry Potter) and SOMETIMES the movie can TOTALLY destroy every positive thought you had about the book (ugh. Beautiful Creatures...anyone?).

Well this weekend I went to see The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones with mi madre and was pleasantly surprised that ... it was close to the book! Yippee!

They changed some things in the movie from the book -- but in my opinion --- it was for the better.

via

If you remember this post I was really put off by the "twist" they threw. So much so that I hesitated to read the second book.

After seeing the movie this weekend...I went home and picked up book #3 - the movie got me interested in the story again.

My only big criticism is that Jace is suppose to be like super hot in the book. In the movie...he's not ... so much BUUUUT the more you watch the movie the better looking he becomes.

If you read and liked the book then the movie is worth it.

Have you seen this movie yet? Will you see it?

What I'm LOVING Wednesday and OH, How Pinteresting

I haven't done LOVES in a long time .... so here we go:

I'm LOVING these little baby hats I made last week to donate to the hospital. They are just so damn cute!

I'm LOVING that I'm going to take a couple days off just to chillax in a week or so. Although I'm worried that if I take these days off I won't have enough vacation hours left for my Florida trip....I'm HOPING I accumulate more hours by then! As of right now - I'm just realllllly tired, and in need of a couple mental health days!

I'm LOVING that I'm a lil closer to opening my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted on that.

I'm LOVING that the feedback I got back {so far} from my training has been really positive. Only slightly negative - they said I talk to fast ----- but that's normal for us folks in this area and it's NOT that negative...right?

I'm LOVING that I finally treated myself to a new cute purse!

I'm LOVING Pinterest!

All these pins can be found HERE.

10 Lil Hats

See these cuties? They are all ready for dem little babies being born in Prince George's County Hospital!

Debi Y over at Dly's Hooks & Yarns has organized a group called Guardian Grandma's and these lovely ladies will make hats, baby cocoons, and blankets to be donated to the hospital.

To my surprise the hospital Debi's donating to is the hospital in the county next to mine...so I HAD to jump on board.

I know what you're thinking: "Trish is too young and fabulous to have grandchildren" -and you're right! I don't even have a kid ... but I expect one day to push one out and that offspring (I assume) will have offspring and BOOM. 30+ years from now I'll be Gma Trish.

So for now I'm and "Honorary Grandma".
And here are my hats:

I love these the most:

Aren't they cute? I wonder if they are too small...I am unfamiliar with newborn babies head size so fingers crossed they'll fit.

Anyhoo, they are ready to be packaged and ready to warm some little heads!

I encourage you to check out Debi's blog and make some baby hats or blankets to donate to her hospital or your local one. It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when you do!

All the feedback is incredible! I shared this on my facebook and instagram yesterday and now I'm motivated to make more!

Virtual Coffee...How Many Cups Does it Take?

Hi! I'm baaack!

And I'm ready for my coffee.....are you?

via
Have you your cup of coffee yet? Ready to chat?

So. If you remember last week's coffee I was in Norfolk, VA for my training. I was stressing about making new friends and about having to role storm in front of everyone...and now that I'm back and it's over - I'm relieved. I had a great time! I met lots of great people and I didn't make a TOTAL fool of myself role storming -- so it's a win-win. I'm still waiting to hear some feedback (well I assume I'm going to get feedback from my AVP...but we'll see).  How was your work week?

view from my hotel window. That big building on the 20th floor is were I spent most of my days last week.

Since I as away last week and my mom was on Stitch the Cat duty - I felt the need to buy her furbaby Sammie Von Thomas a toy. I mean she had to deal with my cat too - so I treated her to this cute little ball...not even an hour later she had destroyed it! So much for having a ball to play with! Do toys last long in your house? Sammie tears up everything. Even the "tough" toys aren't so tough.
she's so smug about it too!

Sunday my mom wanted to have dinner with me - so we went and stuffed our faces with crabs, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes, and as you know...no dinner is complete with out dessert (I have a wicket sweet tooth) so we went over to the cupcake place and I picked up this bad boy:
chocolate ganache cupcake...jealous?
mmm so good - my mouth is watering just looking at this picture. As I stated on Facebook: "Cupcakes make me happy!" Do sweets make you happy? What's your favorite?

Anyhoo, what's going on in your world? If we were having coffee today -- what would you share with me?

Virtual Coffee - Are you in?

Happy Tuesday.
How was your Monday?!

I have the PERFECT solution for a case of the Mondays...ready for it?

Yummy, scrumptious Krispie Kreme donuts. I ate like 5 yesterday. So good.

Anyhoo, ready for some virtual coffee?
via

Today I'm having hotel lobby coffee...because I'm in Norfolk, VA training. I'll probably need 2-3 cups since I'm up extra early.

Have you your cup of coffee yet? Ready to chat?

So, remember my last Virtual Coffee? I was full of anxiety since the regional mgr had quit (and remember my general sales manager and my admin assistant had also quit months prior) and I was worried what would be the fate for my office. Well good news is - I'm still employed and the Assistant Vice President of Sales for the company came in and said he wasn't looking to overturn my team. whew! I'm still nervous but not as filled with anxiety as before. Plus I really like the message that the AVP of sales promotes which is to have fun, and basically don't worry about yesterday.
How are things going for you at work?

This week I'm in Norfolk, VA for a training. New people in the company are sent up (or down depending where you're coming from) to Norfolk to learn all the ends and outs. I've heard FANTASTIC things about this training from my co-workers so I'm looking forward to it.  I'm a bit nervous because I'm going with NOBODY that I know. I'll have to make new friends....well...I'm hoping I can make new friends. Or else it'll be a long lonely week.
Do you get nervous having to be somewhere (for a week) and you don't know anyone?

While I'm away - Stitch is at my mom's house. He is NOT too thrilled. He is an only-furbaby. He doesn't really like other animals. But he'll have to put aside his feelings because he'll be with Sammie the GSD all week (who I'm sure is THRILLED) Stitch is there. I'm not too worried about Stitch though, homey already made himself comfortable -- in Sammie's bed! He has some big balls (not real balls though...because he's neutered....you know I take Bob Barker's advice very seriously).
How are your furbabies doing?

Well. That's it for me today.

How are things going for you?

Follow Friday!!!

TGIF! Happy Friday Folks!

Q: Back to school. Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you’ll be teaching this semester.

Love this question! English was my favorite class - especially when we were reading something good!

Here's what would be on my syllabus:

Holy Crap! I FINISHED IT!

Holy crap people!

I finally finished:

{via}

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Fire and Ice book 2) by George R.R. Martin.

Took me 7 months to finish it (mind you I have finished 7 other books in that same time period)! But still.

No review or commentary on it ... yet ... just wanted to share with you my accomplishment!

Now a pat on the back or a cookie will do...
