My Next Crochet Project (planning)

I'm still in planning stages of the baby shower gift I'm due to make in the next month or so (remember I told you about it in this post).

We have the colors nailed down to:

And white (all from - this is my new favorite yarn).

The parents to be selected their own pattern:

I'm not thrilled. I was hoping to make them something cute! But I'll make them what they want.

Do you think they'll know/notice the difference if I use this pattern instead:
What do you think?

Crochet Mood Blanket 2015

As soon as I started my Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 I immediately started thinking what I was going to do for 2015 and I think I FINALLY decided what I want to do.

Here's my sketch:

I want to do two colors for every day (I found it hard for my 2014 blanket to just pick one color). And I want to do 12 blocks (one for each month) of 30 blocks (one for each day)  - does that make sense?

I plan on using Melanie Eman's Summer Snowflake pattern.
this picture is from melanie's blog
My color scheme for 2015 will be based on this article on Crochet Concupiscene:

BLUE: Calm
GREEN: Relaxed
YELLOW: Energized
RED: Annoyed/Angry/Agitated
ORANGE: Excited
BROWN: Stable
PURPLE: Creative
PINK: Young & Fun
GREY: Neutral
BLACK: Evil (my mean days)

Only thing missing from this list is Sadness - what color represents sadness? 2014 I used a deep blue - have you any suggestions? What color is missing from this list?

What are you planning on for your Crochet Mood Blanket 2015?

Monday Morning Coffee {Virtual Coffee}

Oh. Hello Monday. Back so soon? Ready for some coffee?

{Sip One}: WORK
I talk about work a lot don't I? Is that bad? On Saturday my mom looks at me and says "Today feels like Sunday" as soon as she said that I felt my blood pressure rise. Just the thought of being even closer to today (monday) made me stress out. That's not good right? The anticipation of going to work shouldn't stress me out.  I don't know what's on the horizon for the next few weeks/months at work. I know my numbers are in the dumbs and I'll have to work like crazy to get in the positive. Wish me luck!

How was your holiday? Did Santa Claus get you everything you had on your list (even if you were naughty)? I made out great! Lots of stuff for my new condo and lots of gift cards and cash to get even more stuff for the condo. Shop-Shop-Shopping!

{Sip Three}: BAR STOOL
On Saturday mom and I spent 11am-7pm driving all over the county looking for the perfect bar stools. So much walking around I exceeded my daily steps goal - I'm so excited about that. LOL

After all that walking we didn't find anything I like (LOVED). But as of yesterday I think I've decided on ordering these:

{Sip Four} YARN BOMB
My contribution to the yarn bomber has made it part of his tent #7. I'm VERY excited.
Can you guess (or remember) which piece was my contribution?

What's going on in your world?

Monday Morning Coffee

Hey Ladies, Happy Monday!

Ready to have a couple SIPS? Go grab your Joe. You KNOW I got mine already!

For my iPhone. I always thought I'd need a moment of silence for my phone because I shattered the screen (done that before) or dropped it in the toilet (done that before too) but no. I need a moment of silence because I dropped my phone and someone picked it up and is now holding it hostage and wanting a ransom for it.  Yea. So. Bye Bye phone. I just wish the someone that had found my phone had a kind heart and returned it not someone who clearly has no conscience and wants money for lost property. The story is SO much longer than this but this is all I can muster up about it at this point.

Although I'll be eagerly awaiting the arrival of my replacement phone I need Wednesday to come...and QUICK. I'm HOPING that my company will give us our commission checks on this day because with everything that's going on in my life right now my funds are SUPER low and my credit cards are SUPER high. I need my commission check so I can get back to a comfortable level and so I can do some holiday shopping.

When an opportunity comes knocking on your door do you take it? Or is the change too scary? I'm in this boat right now - not sure what to really do. But we'll see what happens.

Work. That's all I can say.

That's all I have for you today!
What's going on in your world?

Here's my LOVED, LIKED and LEARNED this week:

*My new house shoes/slippers from Target. They are super comfy and warm!
they are buy one, get one half off this week.
*This wine:

*Pretty much unpacked as of this week (except for my office) and that I can get back into my normal routine.

*We have OnDemand! I don't have cable or even basic cable but I can watch all the normal/local channels on demand. LOVE THAT!

*Team dinner at That's Amore. They messed up my meal but it was still good and wine and co-workers and lots of laughs (for the most part).

*My client's complimenting me infront of my new general sales manager and my regional manager (always a nice feeling).

*Someone is coming tomorrow to touch up my drywall issues and give me a new toilet seat.

*My radio in my car has finally been replaced and I can listen to my XM again and have bluetooth.

*The Swifter Vac doesn't have a very good suction (any recommendations on what I should use to clean my hardwood floors)?

*My new neighbors like to listen to their music/tv really loud and/or my walls our thin.

*Stitch's meows are SO MUCH louder since there's no carpet & my condo is mostly empty.

*You can buy AnimalJam gift cards at Toys R Us (and not Target like their website least not the 3 Targets I looked for it at).

*The Ladders is a pretty neat job search website. I like that you can see when someone looks/downloads your resume and how many people applied for the same job.

*I love my car more than I thought I did. After driving a loaner for a couple days (this week and last week), I realized I LOVE my heated seats, navigation, backup cam, push-to-start. Going without it was tough #firstworldproblems.  After driving my Ford deathtrap for many years it I went all out with my new car and now that I'm use to these features I can't live without them!

*Where my trash goes in my new neighborhood (YES it took nearly a week to figure it out and YES Troy had to tell me where it was). Luckily for me Troy's been taking care of discarding trash and boxes.

What have you LOVED, LIKED and LEARNED this week? Share with me!

Dear Santa, All I want is these 501765796 Things and World Peace.

Christmas is ALMOST here! Yay! Can you believe it? I'm really looking forward to some family time, food and presents!

Since moving, my Christmas wishlist is heavily packed with household items. Here's what I'm asking Family-Claus for this year:

Buy Here
Is this cute or is it just me? We (I) got thru a massive amounts of toilet paper. Getting something like this would keep it cute and handy!
Buy Here
My house is MOSTLY hardwood floors but I would like shoes off to keep the dirt traffic and scuffs to a minimum. Having a cute tray would {hopefully} encourage folks to remove their shoes upon entering my domain.
Buy Here
I've seen so many versions of this clock. I'd be happy with any one of them. It's the perfect kitchen clock - don't you think?
Buy Here
I've opted not to get cable again (it's such a rip off). I lived without it for 2 years so I can survivor more time without it. I did sign up for FiOS. So a FireStick will be perfect for me. Especially since I can log-in using my mom's prime account. I might consider signing up for Hulu so I can catch some shows.
Buy Here
I love the Rachel Ray Stoneware. I have quite a few pieces already so this would just add on to my collection. I love the bright colors and that pretty much everything has handles on it. LOVE.
Buy Here
I just want some Cast-Iron Skillets. No good reason as to why - but I want them!
Lastly - I want lots and lots of giftcards, knickknacks, candles, smell goods, books, movies, music, clothes, shoes, and world peace.
Is that asking for too much?
What's on your 2014 Christmas Wishlist?

Monday Morning Coffee

Hi. It's Monday.
So. Yeah.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
Ready to have some SIPS?
Today we have a new manager starting. Ugh. For those at home who have been playing around here's a recap of managers since I started in February 2013: #1 - the manager that hired me quit in April. #2 - the regional manager left shortly after that. #3 - a new guy is hired {and made work life suck} and left for many reasons. He was here September - April. #4 - someone was hired but never started. #5 - another someone hired but never came. And now we are up-to-date.  The internal chatter isn't too happy with the decision of the new person - but I'm trying REALLY hard not to pre-judge someone before I even meet them - but it's hard. Especially when their public posts on FB are inappropriate.
I'll keep you posted on what happens.
Can you believe Christmas is just next week? WTH?! I have not bought ONE THING for anyone other than myself (hey! I'm just being honest). What sucks the most is I don't get a commission check until THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. So that means anyone who I'm getting presents for...they will be late. Consider this your heads up.

I have not decorated for Christmas. I have not one Christmas-y thing out. I have a little fiber optic tree that Stitch Cat Jones really enjoys eating but it's in need of being retired. Maybe after Christmas I'll go out and buy a new one (at a discounted rate) and put away for 2015.

my 2014 Christmas decorating at it's best

Finally around 11pm Saturday night I had time to sit down and get some crochet in. I'm still plugging away at this Trip Around The World blanket trying to make it extra large!

Guess who is home now? Stitch Cat Jones! He's spent the past week at my mom's house (thanks mom!) while I moved and got the new joint set-up. I'm hoping to keep the cat hair and pet damage down to a minimum! We'll see how that goes!

What's going on in your world? Leave me  sips below!

Hello There!
Happy Friday! HAPPY Happy Friday if it's payday for you too!
I've decided that every week I'm going to do a post on the new things I LOVED, LIKED AND LEARNED for the week.  So WELCOME to my first ever Loved, Liked and Learned!

*My new kitchen (see it here)

*I now own my own washer/dryer (no more lugging bags of dirty clothes to my mom's house).

*My mom coming over & unpacking my kitchen.

*Marie driving up from Delaware to "help" unpack. I told her she did great at showing me every where I didn't want things.

*Troy. He's been great this week. Love him.

*A new radio has been ordered for my car.  Thank goodness.

*This tip from Lifehack on Morning RitualsSimply add a slice of lemon in a glass of hot water and drink one every morning. This is a very simple ritual I follow faithfully every morning. Apart from being a good source of vitamin C and a great way of flushing out toxins in the morning, it balances and maintains the PH levels in the body, reduces pain and inflammation in joints and knees and helps nourishing brain and nerve cells.
*This Buzzfeed article on 35 Awesome Toys Every 80's Girl Wanted For Christmas. It took me right back to my childhood.
*That A-1 sauce is suppose to be refrigerated after opening.  After all these years I NEVER knew that.

*How to adjust the water temperature on the hot water heater. It was not set high enough.

[Audio] Book Review: The Silent Sister

In The Silent Sister, Riley MacPherson has spent her entire life believing that her older sister Lisa committed suicide as a teenager.  Now, over twenty years later, her father has passed away and she's in New Bern, North Carolina cleaning out his house when she finds evidence to the contrary.  Lisa is alive.  Alive and living under a new identity.  But why exactly was she on the run all those years ago, and what secrets are being kept now?  As Riley works to uncover the truth, her discoveries will put into question everything she thought she knew about her family.  Riley must decide what the past means for her present, and what she will do with her newfound reality.
I really enjoyed this story. Family Lies, Secrets, and Mystery?!  Who doesn't enjoy that? I liked right away where the story was going with the mystery surrounding the question - "what really happened to Lisa MacPherson?".
This is one of those books where (if you are anything like me) you start guessing what happened: "X did this to Y and that's why ABC happened" and when the answer is revealed you get that excited "I KNEW IT" feeling! I love that. I also love the times my guesses where wrong and I had that "ahhh" moment.
This was my first Diane Chamberlain read and the fact that I loved it so much I will definitely be picking up more of her books.
I recommend you give this a go.

Teaser Tuesday ::: The Silent Sister

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.
“No matter how many people care about you, she thought, if you can't be open with them about who you truly are, you're still alone.”
How true is this?
Keep Reading? or No?

Monday Morning Coffee

Today will be my first cup of real coffee in over 7 days! Being sick these past few days has been terrible. I can't handle the not sleeping, the awful cough and the runny...runny nose.
ugh. But that's all behind me. Let's move on to have some SIPS.
I'm really enjoying my current audiobook - The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain. Have you read this? Or read anything by Diane Chamberlain? Looks like she has quite a few books out and all the ratings are 3 stars and up. I think I'll check them out.  Do you have any recommendations? What are you currently reading?
Yes. FINALLY. I've closed on my condo. It's been a long stressful process but as of Thursday last week I'm a homeowner. I'll share more with you soon!

Last week - I had QUITE A DAY. Like a meltdown-pull-out-my-hair kinda day. I was on PINS and NEEDLES about closing on the condo and my pending move (aka if I was going to close and move or if I was going to be Homeless since I had to get out of my apartment on Sunday) so my stress was thru the roof. That morning I get into my car and there was NOOOO sound. Nada. Nothing. No music, no touchscreen sound, no Bluetooth - straight silence. THEN on top of that on the same day something hit my windshield and BOOM. Crack in my windshield. UGH. Seriously crappy day. But I'm proud of myself because I didn't freak out.

What did you think of my Wordless Wednesday? Did you like the photo a day? I'm debating if I want to keep a specific photo a day OR if I just share like 5 photos a week in general? What do you think?

What's going on in your world?
Share your SIPS with me?

Personal Growth - Practical Ways to Improve.....ME

Hey there!
So with the new year just a few weeks away it's about the time we start to think of resolutions and goals we'd like to achieve. I don't know why we have to wait to the new year but it's a nasty habit. We work for a few weeks at being better and then it's right back to our bad habits. I'm speaking in terms of "us" instead of "I". I assume you have the same problem as I do - but maybe not. You know what happens when we assume!
I found this really great posts called 42 Practical Ways To Improve Yourself. I love it! And it has given me many ideas on what I can do every day to work on making myself  a better person.
I've cherry picked the items I plan on focusing on (and I'm sharing them with you so perhaps you can make me accountable for them):
1. Read a book everyday
3. Pick up a new hobby
5. Create an inspirational room
9. Have a weekly exercise routine
10. Start your life handbook
12. Get out of your comfort zone
16. Stay focused with to-do lists
18. Acknowledge your flaws
20. Learn from people who inspire you
21. Quit a bad habit
22. Cultivate a new habit
26. Start a journal
27. Start a blog about personal development
37. Start a business venture
38. Show kindness to people around you
41. Read at least 1 personal development article a day
42. Commit to your personal growth
17 items out of the 42 that I know I can commit to and make an effort in.
What do you think? Think my personal growth list is attainable?
What are you committed to working on?

Wordless Wednesday {A Photo A Day}

Thanksgiving. I forgot to take a photo BEFORE we started digging in. This is mid-dig.

Everybody Poops. Friends-Giving after meal couch lounge.
Nearly 70 degrees outside and I'm home stuck in bed for day 2
