Teaser Tuesday ::: The Indigo Spell {Bloodlines #3}

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

{goodreads}

"Then your priorities are off. This is a lot more important than his band of Merry Men. If we need to take out some evil sorceress before she gets you, then of course I'll help." He hesitated "With one condition."

DUN.DUN.DUNNNNNN.
Can you guess what the condition is?!
Go ahead. Guess.

Is it just me?!

Is it just me or do you have to watch A League of Their Own every single time it's on tv?! We are the members of the all American team - we come from cities near and far ... I know you know the rest.

{via}

Is it just me or do you wonder why some people find it so hard to flush the toilet?! C'mon ladies! Especially the women at a particular building on Shady Grove Road. Ain't nobody wanting to see that!

{via}

Is it just me or do you hope that the person who flicks cigarettes out the car window that their vehicle catches fire? Or is that mean of me?

Is it just me don't you LOVE this commercial with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd? And I'm talking the whole commercial ... Not the edited down one they've been showing on tv.

Speaking of commercials-is it just me or do you HATE those Lincoln commercials with Matthew Mcconaughey? They annoy me so much - particularly the sound of his voice. "I was driving a Lincoln before anyone even paid me to" ARRRGGGHHH! So irritating.

Is it just me or when ever you're driving behind a tow truck or car transport truck you think the cars are going to fly off and crash into you? Too Final Destinationish? I think they did that in the Bad Boys movie too.

{via}

Is it just me...or can you relate to any of these? Or do you have any "is it just me" wonders too?

Five Fave Pins to Get Me Organized...hopefully.

HEY HEY HEY!  I've been back on my Pinterest kick the past few days looking up organizational ideas for my move (that will happen eventually....hopefully...prayerfully).

Here are my top five LOVES that I hope I will do in my next place:

{one}
{via}
LOVE this idea. I typically wear the same jewelry over and over again (usually whatever is on top of the jewelry box because that's just easier) but I think this would encourage me to wear different pieces. I'd do this on one of the walls in a WIC. Looks relatively easy to make too. Win-Win.

{two}
{via}
I absolutely - hands down - HAVE to do this once I get settled. I can barely open my drawers now because they are so crammed with cooking utensils.  The only thing is I don't have a woodcutterthingymajig so that may complicate things a bit but I will figure it out somehow.

{three}
{via}
If I have enough extra drawers I'd like to do this. I think it'll be much easier to access my spices then having to stand on chair and trying to see into my cabinet over the stove. This is neat and tidy and easy to access!

{four}
{via}
Now this I can do! I already have some of these clear containers, I'll just need to fill them up...with some yummy useable things!

{five}
{via}
I think I will opt out of having a fridge and just getting this wine organizer. It would make my life so much easier.

Fall?! Oh Hell No. Go away Fall aka My Fall Season Rant

I firmly say "No" to Fall.

Everyone is running around with their panties in a bunch because Fall is finally here.

Fall = pumpkin everything, squash, leaves falling from trees, no more humidity, football season ... Blah blah blah. You know what I say to that?!?!

That's #%^!.

You can buy a few extra boxes of pumpkin spice coffee and drink them any time of the year (duh!) and Trader Joes sells squash soup year round (hello!) and if you like the fall trees - there's tons of pictures on the worldwide web (google anyone?!).

Ugh. And need I remind you what happens after Fall?!?? Do you know? Huh? Do you?

Let me remind you what happened after Fall last time:
MD snow storm 2014

Mmmhmm. Point Proven Right?

I STRONGLY say "Hell No" to Fall.

Yes I'm hating on Fall. Don't you agree?

Teaser Tuesday ::: Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

{goodreads}

"ALL HE COULD SEE, IN EVERY DIRECTION, WAS WATER. It was June 23, 1943. Somewhere on the endless expanse of the Pacific Ocean, Army Air Forces bombardier and Olympic runner Louie Zamperini lay across a small raft, drifting westward. Slumped alongside him was a sergeant, one of his plane’s gunners. On a separate raft, tethered to the first, lay another crewman, a gash zigzagging across his forehead. Their bodies, burned by the sun and stained yellow from the raft dye, had winnowed down to skeletons. Sharks glided in lazy loops around them, dragging their backs along the rafts, waiting.”

Have you read this? Will you be seeing the movie when it comes out in December?

Q: What Are My Dreams Telling Me??! A: That I'm CRAZY!

Do you ever look up your dreams?
Lately I've been having some crazy dreams and I believe they have some sort of secret meaning.

{dream 1}
the weekend before I flew to Florida I had a dream that Southwest Airplanes (the transportation line of my choice) were falling out of the sky - and if they weren't falling out of the sky they were flying super low.

In the dream I remember watching other people trying to help the victims from the flight but there was some guy out there shooting all the people that were helping the crash victims. THEN (this is the moment your heart starts racing and you pray you wake up) the shooter saw me witnessing the murders and he came after me.
THAT'S when I woke up.

What does this mean!??!!?

Well according to Dreammoods.com: To dream that a plane crashes suggests that you have set overly high and unrealistic goals for yourself.  Your goals may be too high and are impossible to realize. You are in danger of having it come crashing down. Alternatively, your lack of confidence, self-defeating attitude and self-doubt toward the goals you have set for yourself is represented by the crashing airplane; you do not believe in your ability to attain those goals. Loss of power and uncertainty in achieving your goals are also signified.

{dream 2}
{via}
I can't remember the build up but I just remember being with a couple of girls (I think friends) and there was some crazy person coming after us with a gun ready & wanting to shoot us. We were all hiding in a closet - like 3 of us hiding under clothes and blankets in the closet looking out the slots to see when this maniac was coming.

What does this mean!?

According to Dreammoods (my go-to): To dream that someone is shooting you with a gun suggests that you are experiencing some confrontation in your waking life. You may be feeling victimized in some situation.

{dream 3}
Last dream I had was about elephants. I was watching the elephants walk by tail to trunk. And I remember very vividly the baby elephants were drinking their mother's milk.

What does this mean?!?

Again, according to Dreammoods: To see an elephant in your dream indicates that you need to be more patient or more understanding of others. Or perhaps there is a memory that you are holding on to for too long. You need to let go of the past. The elephant is also a symbol of power, strength, faithfulness and intellect. Alternatively, the elephant's introverted personality may be a reflection of your own personality. In particular, if you see a white elephant, then it symbolizes royalty.

 What are my dreams trying to tell me?!
Apparently, I need to go seek out my therapist because there's a lot going on in my subconscious mind.
What do you think?
What do you dream about?

Confessional Friday

1. I confess that even though I'm linking up with A Blonde Ambition that I'm really copying this idea from Jenn @ Going the Distance. She comes up with so many good ideas on her blog - I swear she must think I steal all her ideas. But it's just a form of flattery....right?!

2. I confess I've been feeling really emotional lately. I don't know what's going on. I've been really down in the dumps. Hopefully I get out of my funk soon.

3. I confess that every time I go to the bathroom as of late - I do 10 squats. If you know me I'm a frequent pee-er. So I figured if I do 10 squats each time I use the bathroom I should have the best butt any girl could want.

4. I confess that I've been running on my knee - and I haven't been back to the doctor to get the approval to run.  It's been about 9 months since my ACL surgery so I should be fine to run. Right? I mean I could just WebMD it to make sure but I gave myself the go-ahead.

5. I confess that I have a work event AND a family event on Sunday. Family is #1 in my book. Although I made a commitment to show up to this work event I have to bail out early to be to my family event. I hope my co-workers aren't tooo pissed but I have to live with my family for the rest of my life and one missed work event shouldn't kill me.

What's your confession for this week?

What I Did With the WIPs I'm Never Going To Finish... #BombSquad

If you're anything like me you probably have A TON of incomplete projects. I have a project stashed in the closet, one in the coat area, one under the table, one under the bed.....
oh wait....CORRECTION...I HAD multiple stashes.

I got rid of them and...you know what? I feel good about it!

I packed them up and shipped them off to Santa Barbara to the YarnBomber!

Do you follow this guy on Instagram? If not - you should! It's really neat to see all the pieces people send to him from all over the world and what he does with them.  According to his Instagram he has 459 fiber artists, from 38 countries and all 50 US States...and now I'm one of them!!

Woohoo to the shout out!

and goodbye to these projects I never planned on finishing:

Have you ever taken part in a Yarn Bomb?

What do you do with the WIPS you know you'll never finish?

hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

{goodreads}
"Brayden's probably the last guy in the world you have to worry about. I think he's as clueless as you are. If I didn't care about your virtue so much, I'd actually probably give him a lecture on how to try something."

This made me chuckle a bit. Like a LOL for real. Literally.

What do you think? Funny enough to keep reading or no?

{4}
Meeting and Maintaining some wonderful friendships/relationships over the past 31 years.

Follow Friday

Happy Friday Friends!

How about a little FF to get the day going?
{join in here}
Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you? - Suggested by A Great Read

I love this question!

I would go to the bookstore (Borders was my favorite - esp when I had my coupon!) and would spend so much time looking at all the books on the tables - the bestsellers, staff recommendations, features, etc - and I would pile them up and buy what I could afford.

I also had a little scrap paper that I carried around that I would write the titles of books down that I wanted to buy at a later day.

Oh. Memories.
I miss that bookstore smell!

How did you find out about new books?

Book Review: Bloodlines (Bloodlines #1)

I ATE-THIS-BOOK-UP.
Seriously.
Loved.

GoodReads Synopis:

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning...

This is a spin-off from the Vampire Academy (VA) series focusing on Sydney Sage picking up right around where VA leaves off. I LOVED that we learn more about Sydney. We got glimpses of her in the other series but now we learn more and more about this character and she's growing and learning as she goes along this journey. I also LOVE that characters pop in from the VA series, so it's not like all those other folks just fell off when their series ended.
I also LOVE that we get more of Adrian from VA. He didn't end up so well in the last book of VA but now we learn more and I couldn't be more excited to follow his character along.

I say: READ THIS! Especially if you read Vampire Academy!

What do you think? Will you read? Have I sparked your interest?
OR
Did you read? Do you feel the same?
